Milled cloeziana piles, made to measure for Prolock and JLD

Cylindrically milled to any diameter from 100 to 220 mm, up to 12 metres in length. Strength class D70, without taper, for plastic screens and anchored revetments.

From the milling machine to the screen

Milled and bundled in South Africa, installed in Prolock and JLD fencing along Dutch riverbanks and footpaths.

Milled to any size, for any plastic fencing

Prolock Omega or Sigma, JLD M-Hex or J-Hex: we mill cloeziana piles to a cylindrical shape in the diameters required by the system – 100, 130, 150, 180, 200 or 220 mm, in lengths from 1.0 to 12.0 metres. Without taper, ensuring smooth guidance and a precise fit within or behind the plastic profile. Pointed on request, debarked and graded in accordance with SANS 754:2019.

Milled Eucalyptus cloeziana piles for a Prolock plastic sheet pile wall

Prolock Omega and Sigma with cloeziana

The Prolock system combines a screen made from recycled plastic with timber piles. The screen retains the soil and protects the bank at the water’s edge; it does not rot or rust. The piles provide the structural strength and rigidity of the wall. For lighter structures (Sigma), softwood is often used, whilst for heavier earth retaining structures (Omega), Cloeziana hardwood is preferred: strength class D70, provided it is supplied by Wood Solutions. The strength of the piles, combined with the Omega profile, allows for a free-standing sheet pile wall; whether an anchoring system is required is determined by the calculations.

JLD plastic revetment with milled Eucalyptus cloeziana piles

JLD M-Hex and J-Hex with cloeziana

JLD supplies plastic sheet pile panels (M-Hex and J-Hex) and the JLD folding anchor, a mechanical ground anchor that is driven into the ground by vibration and then tilts. When reinforcing riverbanks, dykes, canals and marinas, cloeziana piles form the load-bearing wall or revetment. To absorb the earth pressure, the structure is anchored to the piles via an anchor rod and a purlin. Cloeziana grows straight, has durability class 1 and will last for decades in wet conditions.
